RE: Those poor Bluehairs

The only thing that offended myself was the condition of you rig, you really need to power wash the frame.:p

RE: Test Driving

So I test drove a 2008 Dodge 1-ton SRW yesterday. 6.7L CTD, 68rfe tranny, almost fully loaded. Took it out on the highway for a quick test, as we're getting serious about upgrading our truck. All I can say is WOW!!!:E:E Got up on the highway and laid the boot to her for a second. Took the engine about a 1/2 second to respond, but when it did, that turbo screamed, the tranny dropped 2 gears and I suddenly found myself sitting with my kids in the back seat! :E:E Then, as we got up to the next turn-off, I took my foot out of it, the engine brake took over, and with the sound of a big rig Jake, the speed bled off quickly enough that I didn't need the service brakes. Let's just say that the DW had to get a towel out to wipe the drool off my chin! I was lovin' that truck! Heck, the Low Fuel warning dinged at me on the highway - I checked the overheard and saw that we still had over 50 km's (30 miles) to go before empty. Not sure how accurate that is, though. The salesman ran some numbers for me. It's gonna be a tad expensive, but I think I might call him on Monday and say "Let's Do It!" (to quote Tone Loc). Heck, I've already got most of my radio gear out of the current truck Cheers! Mike Sounds like a Jake inside, but outside it sounds like a huge air leak!

RE: Another Battery Question

Two 6ers and a 12 volt will work just fine if you have space for three. I found with four 6ers in a single box it takes up far less space than four 12v in separate boxes. You should never mix batteries.

RE: Warrior's website

+1 re: Giant. "I didn't think it was physically possible, but {Gaint} both sucks and blows." - Bart Simpson Didn't WW's website always point back to Giant? I'm pretty sure they've been piggybacking off Giant's web site forever. WW had there sitehttp://www.warriormfg.com/ and Giant has http://www.a1warriortrailers.com/

RE: Warrior's website

Whats so bad about that? At least now if you have any questions, you can call someone about it. Beats getting a recording from Warrior's number. Because Gaint blows.

RE: Then final word on Weekend Warrior

You're right. . . it is all Mark's fault the bubble burst on the mortgage industry and the fuel prices went through the roof causing the RV industry to experience a huge down-turn. Mark really should have seen it coming. . . I mean everyone else did right? That's why the government stepped in a few years back to stop all these no-down loans from occuring and also why they put a stop to the Stated-Income loans. Seriously, that guy is a complete moron for not seeing all this like the rest of us did. Ok, back to reality. It amazes me how people continue to bash WW when at this point the only thing they are doing is bashing the people that own them. There is no more WW so, no reason to bash any longer. Also amazing is that people think WW went out of business over quality issues or some lawsuit. They can't look at the big picture and see that when Real estate values have fallen by over 20% (Source Sacramento Bee today) that people may be less concerned with buying a new trailer and more concerned with keeping their jobs and Homes and paying their bills. Well said!

RE: Auxiliary Fuel Tank (Truck)

Great input, very appreciated. Love how soembody said they thought the guys at Aero are odd (I have not been there yet). I think I am going with the Aero 67 replacement under the bed so I can leave the bed for hauling stuff like fire wood or future toys (small quad) for the kids. I figure I would have to fill up no matter what at least one way so at least I can choose when. We usually only go (with the exception of Mexico this year) 200 to 300 miles out anyway. Anybody know how the distance to empty reads when you have a replacement tank? Is it still accurate. Dieselgem what kind of mileage are you getting in your 450? I think you have the same trailer as I do (KZ 40 footer). I'm the one who thought they were a bit odd, tell me what you think after your installation. On my Dodge when the low fuel light comes on I still have 11 gallons in the tank.

RE: Auxiliary Fuel Tank (Truck)

A second vote for Aerotanks. I removed the stock 35-gallon tank in my Dodge and installed the Aerotanks 60-gallon tank. I didn't want an in-bed tank because I didn't want to give up valuable real estate in the truck bed. Installation took two guys a couple of hours. Pat in Sun City, CA www.patcarnathan.com third vote for aero tanks.. they had a summer special 100.00 off ck there web site Did you guy find them to be a bit odd at Aero?

RE: Auxiliary Fuel Tank (Truck)

I have the Aero 60 gal midship replacement tank, I did this because I wanted to keep the bed clear for things I do not want to carry in the trailer I.E. compressor, firewood, racing fuel, ECT.

RE: Fresh water tank problems!!!

When you fill, fill SLOWLY so that the air can burp out of the second tank. Otherwise the water will spill out of the first tank while the second harldy has any water and then it will equalize later and you'll only have 1/2 of the true amount you should have. Also on our attitude(same mfg as stellar) I had the problem of only filling the first tank for a few trips and one time I dumped my fresh and a circle of plastic came out of the dump valve that probably came when the installer cut the hole for the pipe that goes between the two tanks cut the hole and left the plastic piece in the tank. I am thinking it might have been in the way of the second tank's line, not allowing for equal filling... Exactly, go slow.
